Time of reckoning for Nomad Convoy

Wow, seems like a lot of people started to look at this blog when researching Nomad Convoy. I didn’t really expected that to happen but anyways. We’ve nothing to hide. I like transparency, though I understand that most people don’t expected this kind of insight into a startup.

Anyways, I’ve always written for myself and not for anyone else and I’ll continue with that. So please don’t expect any flower talks here to make things look better then they are.

I like sharing my story as it is, not as I would like it to be.

Yesterday night we closed our #BlackFriday special for Nomad Convoy and have now reached a total of 9 bookings. Everyone on board is great and I’m looking forward to connect them with each other. Plus, there ares till a few possible bookings outstanding and we still have time to reach more.

We have created a Facebook group to get everyone involved into the next steps. As it looks right now, we still aren’t enough people to make it happen. At least not profitable. If we cut a few costs we could make it happen as a non-profit just for fun project. Not exactly what I had in mind but I don’t mind doing it that way. It’s still a great experience for everyone involved.

We informed everyone about the situation and are now awaiting their feedback.

Let’s hope my honesty pays off. Though I feel as if it sabotaged the business. As if people don’t want to hear the stuff behind the scenes.

And in regards to my last post and the business structure; We found a way to make it all happen. Our new company NomadXplore is organizing the tour while Nomad Tours is the well experienced and licensed tour operator who is executing it. All good.

Funny how the bureaucracy always tries to tie you down instead of supporting you.

What ever is going to happen, it’s been a great learning curve and I’ve absolute no regrets for trying. And the idea definitely hit like a bomb!

Actually, let me share some of the comments from our 150+ applications!

I’m really looking forward to your response. If you’re not going to choose me, I will definitely follow you on social sites to see lucky 70 guys and how are you all having a great time in Africa. 🙂

You just made my day with finding you!!

I’m very active and love adventure.

Spectacular initiative. Great itinerary. I would love to be a part of this amazing journey. To explore Africa with other passionate souls and share the experience will be much more satisfying than doing it on my own. Looking forward to hear from you !

Take me with you!

A friend of mine, tagged me in one of your Instagram photos, I fell in love and had to apply. So hope to read you soon:)

You rock, thanks for putting this together! It looks amazing.

I’ve lived in 17 countries accross the globe, and I travel almost continuously all the time, but never been to Africa. Super excited! Let’s do this! 🙂

You guys rock! Awesome initiative! I am looking forward to hear more from you & of course to meet you on the road 😉

Really cool on boarding process, sweet email marketing. Awesome concept. Hope a little work focus is fine. You’re cool.

Pick ME!!! 🙂 This would be one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me. Africa is a dream and life is always too short. “Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”

Cannot wait for you guys to give me an answer! Enjoy your life now!

What a great idea this is! Two thumbs up!

Thank you all for the amazing support! It really means a lot to me and I’m still positive that we can pull it off!

Feel free to contact me directly if you are interested in joining us via [email protected]!

Have a great day!

Talk soon,

Torsten
