Yangon, Myanmar
Again the insecurities arise. I just arrived back in Yangon and went to the B&B backpackers which has this awesome rooftop place. I just wanted to check prices and options to get to Thailand and it worked out well. I’ll leave tonight to the Thai border and should arrive back in Chiang Mai somewhen tomorrow. I’m used to long bus rides now and didn’t feel like flying.
Back here I met Lukas and Jenya again. Both have been part of the Vipassana and I was surprised they are still here. We chatted a bit and I got to know about how easy it is to make money in California and Mexico. Funny. The U.S. was one of the last places I assumed this was possible. Looks like the American Dream still exists. At least for foreigners.
Lukas too is fighting with a decision where to go next. It’s the typical trap we travelers find ourselves in once in a while. And I’m not much better off.
We always want what we don’t have.
There is still so much to do and so much to see in the world. All the places I could just go tomorrow. It’s insane. Flights have become reasonable cheap across the world and everything seems to be at our fingertips.
I gotta make a plan. A decision. And stick to it.
I know that’s easier said then done. Even better and more rewarding the feeling once it’s done. Just f@cking do it.
In endless thoughts,
Torsten
